The Kingfisher is an glossy

pages of articles and news
about birds in Hampshire.
The Membership Secretary will be happy to send
potential members a sample copy.
Annual Bird Report
The latest edition, Hampshire Bird Report 2006, was published in
December 2007. It is available from the Sales Officer, Margaret Boswell, 5
Clarence Road, Lyndhurst, Hants SO43 7AL price £11.80 including P&P. Please

Annual Members' Day
A half day conference, which includes the AGM, with talks, sales stands,
refreshments and a chance to meet like-minded people.
Meetings Programme
There is an outdoor meeting every week, led by a knowledgeable and
experienced birdwatcher, and occasional indoor meetings in the winter. See
Walks page.
Free use of Southampton
University's Hartley Library
Members of HOS are entitled to a Reader's Ticket free of charge (normally
£10). The Society's library is housed in the Special Collections Section of
the Hartley Library. Refer to the Information page.
The opportunity to
participate in surveys
HOS undertakes surveys both independently and in collaboration with other
bodies throughout the year. New observers are always welcome. See
