2007-11 Bird Atlas – How can I help ?

close window

If you’ve read about the planned methods for the Atlas, and you’d like to help – then there are two ways you can do it.

Firstly, something that anyone can easily do, is submit Roving Records. We need a lot more of these – especially with breeding evidence, and especially for less well-visited tetrads.

Please submit records via www.birdatlas.net or www.birdtrack.net - but always include the tetrad letter.

If you’d like to do something a little more systematic, then there are still tetrads requiring Timed Tetrad Visits. You can see on the website www.birdatlas.net which ones are unallocated, and click on one if you’d like to do it. Alternatively, simply email me with a list of all the tetrads where you’d like to do the timed 2-hour counts.  Remember though, that each tetrad only needs covering in one year (two visits summer and two visits in winter), so it shouldn’t be too difficult for you to do up to (say) ten tetrads during the 4-year project.

See the “tetrad letters and numbers” bit of the website for an easy way of referring to tetrads.
