The Hampshire Bird Report for 2023 was published in November 2024.
The book is 266 pages long, the major part of which is taken up with the Systematic List covering the 254 species recorded in the county during the year. The book also contains regular papers including obituaries, the Review of the Year and various appendices. There are also five main papers covering Hampshire Dartford Warbler survey, HOS survey of breeding Marsh Tits, Selborne Landscape Partnership Lapwing Recovery Project, Monitoring breeding gulls at New Milton and Improvements in the breeding success of shorebirds at Needs Ore as a result of anti-predator measures employed in 2023. There are reports on county firsts – Kumlien’s Gull and Forster’s Tern and notes on Grants for projects undertaken in 2023.
Ordering Information
The 2023 bird report can be ordered at a cost of £16.25 (including postage and packing). It can be obtained at a discounted price of £10.00 (incl p&p) by those HOS members who joined between October 1st and December 31st 2024.
